French Bread

This is the best french bread! I always buy the loaves at Wal-Mart that are like a dollar because Roger loves french bread, but this tasted SO much better and was really easy to make. Here's the recipe, seriously try it today!
In a large bowl, combine:
2 T. yeast
2 1/2 c. warm water (not way hot)
3 T. sugar
Mix together and let sit.
When yeast is activated (foamy/bubbly), then add:
1 T. salt
1/3 c. oil
3 c. flour
Mix well, then add:
3 c. flour
*Mix w/ a wooden spoon or Kitchen Aid mixer (level 2). Let rise for 1 hour, pounding down every 10 mins. Divide dough into 2 (or 4 if you want mini loaves) and roll each piece into a loaf shape. Place on greased cookie sheet. Slash tops w/ a serrated knife. Cover w/ cloth and let rise 30 mins or until doubled in size. Bake @ 400 degrees for 30 mins.
