Upside-Down Pizza Bake

This is delicious! Next time I will double it though, to make a 9x13, instead of an 8x8, so keep that in mind if you have a bigger group to feed.

1/2 lb. Italian sausage
1 c. spaghetti sauce
1/2 c. sliced mushrooms, fresh
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 c. shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1 c. biscuit/baking mix
1 egg
1/2 c. milk

*In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
*Pour spaghetti sauce into a greased 8x8 inch square baking dish. Top with mushrooms, green pepper, sausage and 1/2 c. cheese.
*In a small bowl, combine the biscuit mix, egg, and milk until blended. Pour over top. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
*Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
