Grandma's Sheet Cake

2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
1 stick margarine
1/2 c. shortening/oil
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. water
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
*Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt together in a bowl. In saucepan, mix margarine, oil, cocoa, and water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and pour over flour mixture; beat.
*Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk (milk with a tiny bit of vinegar) and add eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk to first mixture. Beat well.
*Pour into a 12x18 pan and bake at 400 for 20 mins.

***5 mins before cake is done baking, start icing:
Icing
1 stick margarine
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
6 Tbsp. milk
1/2 c. chopped nuts (opt)
1 small pkg powdered sugar
*Mix margarine, milk, and cocoa in saucepan and bring to a boil. Place sugar in bowl and pour hot liquid over sugar. Beat and add vanilla and nuts. Pour over hot cake. Enjoy! This is a favorite everywhere I take it.
