Lindsey's Pineapple Cake

1 yellow cake mix, baked according to directions
1 can crushed pineapple
1 c. brown sugar
1 large package instant vanilla or coconut cream pudding
8 oz. cool whip
*Bake cake according to box directions.
*Five minutes before cake is done, mix pineapple with juice and brown sugar in a saucepan. Boil mixture for five minutes.
*While cake is still hot, poke holes in it and pour pineapple mixture on top. Cool.
*Mix pudding with 3 cups milk. Let stand a few minutes before spreading on top of cake. Let set, then spread with Cool Whip. Better when served cold.
